Small Joys During Exam Period

In the crowded coffeeshop, he was grateful for just finding a stool at the laptop bar.  His happiness was tempered only by the fact that this particular stool was missing a cross-piece on the front, so that his legs dangled uncomfortably a foot off the floor.  This was an emotionally unsettling experience for the former power forward.
